Full Service

Periodic maintenance prevents the wearing process.  If you send in your watch to an experienced watchmaker for service, your watch will stay in top condition.

At Rattrapante your watch will be worked on by experienced en certified watchmakers, specialized in vintage watches. Educated en worked at the workshop of Kalle Slaap, master watchmaker in Spanbroek.

We offer full-service for most mechanical watches. We repair and replace parts in consultation witch the client and make the outside of the watch completely fresh.

What is Full Service?

  • The opening of the case and disassembly of the watch
  • Looking for faults in the watch
  • Cleaning of the parts professionally and check for wear
  • Replacing of the mainspring
  • Assembly of the watch
  • Repairing or replacing parts with damage (additional charge)
  • Lubrication of the moving parts
  • Regulating the watch
  • Replacements of the gaskets
  • Pressure test
  • Ultrasonic cleaning of the strap and casing
  • Strap and crown check
  • If necessary replacement of the glass
  • If desired, polishing the casing and/or strap
  • 48 hour test on the winding machine

Watches are in fact small machines and like any machine it needs maintenance. The fine mechanisms get dirty by dried in old lubrication or incoming moist, they wear and eventually they will break.

Your valuable watch will run less efficient at first, unnoticed the unnecessary wear begins, the watch will lose precision, functions will stop and eventually the whole watch will stop.

Also the casing of the watch gets a lot to endure. Streps get stretched or will snap. The case gets dings and dangs, the glass gets scratches, crowns wear off.
